If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I’m a pretty big fan of Pixi skincare, so you can imagine I was pretty excited to find their new Jasmine and Retinol range on my doorstep.
Pixi is the queen of skincare ranges – I was a big fan of their Hydrating Milky, Vitamin C and Glow ranges, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the Retinol and Jasmine range shapes up.
Pixi’s Retinol and Jasmine range
Like most of Pixi’s skincare ranges, the Retinol and Jasmine range covers you from cleansing and toning to moisturising and serum. Take a look at my first impressions of the range so far:
Pixi Retinol Jasmin Cleanser
I really love Pixi cleansers, and the Retinol Jasmin Cleanser is no different. Like most of Pixis cleansers, this is a creamy cleanser and is enriched with vitamin A (retinol), antioxidants and ceramides to remove impurities for smoother, firmer and more radiant-looking skin.
On first impressions, this isn’t as creamy as some of Pixi’s other cleansers – the favourite I’ve tried is from their Hydrating Milky Range. It didn’t lather up as well as I’d hoped, and also felt a bit oily. The scent surprised me too – it smelt fresh, but not particularly floral. Not my favourite for sure.
Pixi Retinol Tonic
Next, the Retinol Tonic helps to rejuvenate the skin for a natural glow. Made with antioxidants and botanicals, the retinol tonic works to replenish the skin for a smoother, softer appearance while soothing sensitive skin.
I really love the light, fresh scent this tonic has. On first use, I also felt it was a lot less drying than other tonics from Pixi, especially their famous glow tonic.
Pixi Retinol Eye Cream
Eye cream is a product I haven’t had from Pixi before. The Retinol Eye Cream is formulated to improve elasticity, smooth & protect the delicate skin around the eye area.
I’ve been using this product daily for a week or so now, and as lovely as it is spending some time giving my skin some extra TLC (eye care isn’t something I usually do in my skincare routine), I’m not blown away by this product. It feels refreshing on the skin, doesn’t irritate, but leaves a bit of a stick residue – so I’m not too sure how this would perform under make-up.
Pixi Retinol Jasmin Lotion
The Retinol Jasmin Lotion is a daily moisturiser formulated with vitamin A, jasmine oil and peptides to renew, smooth and deeply nourish the skin.
For me, this was a bit too heavy for a morning moisturiser, taking a while to sink into the skin. And again, despite being a Jasmine range, it doesn’t have a particularly floral scent which is a shame.
Pixi Overnight Retinol Oil
In terms of serums/oils, this range has the Overnight Retinol Oil and the Jasmine Oil Blend serum. The Overnight Retinol Oil blend helps to restore skin plumpness and improve the appearance of fine lines and pores.
For me, I much prefer serums over oil, having said that, I am enjoying this overnight treatment. I’ll continue for a while longer before making a decision on it.
Pixi Jasmine Oil Blend
Finally, the Jasmine Oil Blend aims to help skin recover from loss of moisture and dullness. It helps repair damage as well as calm and restore stressed and unbalanced skin.
The oil blend is the product I’ve tried least in the range, given that I’m not a fan of oils, but I’ve heard good things about this from those who have especially dry skin.
Overall, I don’t think Pixi’s Jasmine and Retinol range is my favourite, purely because I don’t think is especially works for my skin type. That said, there are a couple of products in the range I’d reach out for again.
