Looking to get that ultimate glowing skin this summer? Me too. Lucky for me, some Pixi goodies landed on my doorstep a few weeks ago, each with an aim of achieving just that.
How to get glowing skin this summer
In my Pixi glow kit there were 5 products, each for a different step in your skincare routine.
Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel
First up is the cleanser – the Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel. I’ve previously used the Rose Cleanser from Pixi, as well as the Nourishing Cleansing Balm, and I’ve loved both so I knew the Glow Tonic was probably going to be a firm favourite too. This a super refreshing gel that removed impurities from the skin, without removing moisture.
I’ve been using this in the morning as a really refreshing cleanser to wake my skin up and sticking to the Rose Cleanser as my evening cleanser, just after removing my makeup.
The Glow Tonic doesn’t need much of an introduction – this is a firm staple in many bloggers skincare routine. I’ve been using this daily for a good 6-8 months now, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Pour a little onto a cotton pad and wipe across your face to help tone and tighten the skin. This also works to remove dead skin cells and has ingredients like Glycolic Acid to keep any breakouts away.
Glow Tonic Serum
The next step to glowing skin is the Glow Tonic Serum. This is a lightweight serum which gently exfoliates, hydrates and nourished. Because it’s a serum, I’ve been opting to use this just once a day, in the evening, giving it the whole night to really work it’s magic on my skin.
The next product I’ve been using in my routine is the pHenomenal Gel. This is a gel moisturiser which works to balance and stabilize the skin’s pH. I’ve been using this as my morning moisturiser, and I’ve found it really refreshing thanks to its gel formula.
As well as this, it soaks in easily and preps my skin perfectly for my base make-up. It reminds me of the Clinique Moisture Surge Gel – another of my favourites, but for half the price!
And finally, for the ultimate summer glow, it’s the On-The-Glow solid moisturiser. This is a moisturising stick – something really different to anything I’ve tried before.
As a solid moisturiser, this is something I’ve been using when I’ve been feeling lazy in the evening. But I also think it’ll be used a lot more in the summer where I’m wearing less base make-up, too.
With vitamin D2, glycolic acid and ginseng, this works to revitalize, moisturise and renew skin. Just swipe it across your face, and pat in any excess with your fingertips.
My verdict on the ultimate glow kit from Pixi
As someone who has oilier skin, I often underestimate my skins need for a bit of hydration and moisturiser. Since introducing these products into my skincare I’ve seen such a difference in the appearance of my skin. It’s clearer, no longer dull, and is definitely summer-ready.
I really wish this set was available to purchase – fortunately for me, Pixi sent across this parcel as part of their PR mailing, but if you’re looking for the perfecting glowing skin routine, these are the products you need to pick up.
