If you were to raid my current skincare collection, I can almost guarantee that there’d be at least one – if not multiple – Pixi products in there. You’ve only got to search Pixi on my blog to know how much of a fan I am of their products. Their latest skincare range, the Pixi +C Vit is a small extension of their previous Vitamin C range infused with – yep, you guessed it – Vitamin C. Keep reading to see my review of the collection.
A review of the Pixi +C Vit range
I’ve been using the Pixi +C Vit range for a good 4+ weeks now. There are currently 5 items in the collection, a priming oil, under eye brighterner, brightening perfector, lip brightener (all pictured and tested here), and the glow-y powder, which I haven’t yet tried.
I liked that this collection was small and really focussed – I wasn’t so overwhelmed with products and could really build an opinion on each with ease.
+C Vit Priming Oil
The +C Vit Priming Oil is a tri-phase (yes, that’s the first time I’ve ever read that word too) oil that nourishes, energies and balances to prep and prime for a radiant glow. It should be used is one of the final stages in your skincare routine, priming the skin for a ‘flawless’ makeup application. Other ingredients include turmeric for antioxidant protection and carrot oil to replenish and hydrate.
If you’ve read some of my skincare reviews before, you’ll know I’m not the biggest fan of oils. I tend to have oily skin anyway and like to steer away from products that are going to bring out the shine even sooner. But that said, I have suffered with drier skin recently, especially with all the mask-wearing right now. So I’ve actually been reaching for this oil more than I expected to.
It surprised me how easily this product sunk into the skin, not leaving any greasy residue on my skin throughout the day. It hydrates and gets rid of any dry patches well too. As for the perfect make-up base – that’s something I can’t vouch for just yet, since I haven’t worn all that make-up in lockdown, but I’ll be trying it out soon.
+C Vit UnderEye Brightener
Next in the collection is the +C Vit UnderEye Brightener. This eye cream is designed to blur and energises to give a, brighter, instant awakening effect. As well as vitamin C, this brightener has ferulic acid to provide an antioxidant boost and caffeine to de-puff and energise.
The applicator of this eye cream intrigued me – a plastic doe-foot style head which I thought might help with the application. But it seems to be a bit of a gimmick – using this to apply the cream just caused in more product build up on the plastic head, rather than actually on my skin, so applying with your index finger is definitely easier.
As for the product, the cream comes out orange and feels light on the skin. It felt soothing and delicate, and although quite subtle, it definitely felt like it brightened my undereyes well.
+C Vit Brightening Perfector
The +C Vit Brightening Perfector is a skin-perfecting enhancer to be used as a final step in your skincare routine to blur imperfections, correct tones and brighten. It can be used on its own or under makeup for added ‘complexion perfection’.
I was surprised at how small this product is, considering it’s essentially a second moisturiser, but the formula is quite thick and a little goes a long way. The scent of this is quite lemony which I love in the morning, but something to bear in mind if you’re not such a fan of scented products.
I really love this product. It feels thick on application, but soaks in nicely and definitely gives a blurring and dewy finish. The finish is a bit too glowy for me, but that’s nothing that a bit of powder can’t fix. If you’re looking to brighten up dull skin, I’d definitely recommend giving the +C Vit Brightening Perfector a go.
+C Vit Lip Brightener
The final product from the +C Vit collection is the Lip Brightener. Inspired by nature, this lip calm smooths with a hint of tint and shine. There’s a vitamin C core which helps with intense moisture and luminous shine. With ingredients like jojoba seed oil and vitamin e, this lip balm softens, smooths, nourishes and protects.
I don’t have all that much to report on with this product – it’s a nice lip balm which softens the lips, whilst giving off a natural shine. A great product to keep in the bottom of a handbag.
