As the season changes, I always like to switch up my beauty and skincare. I’m always trying new bits out, and ultimately finding new favourites, so today I thought I’d share with you what I’m loving this summer – my top 7 summer beauty favourites.
Starting with moisturiser, I’ve been loving the Pixi pHenomenal Gel Moisturiser I got as part of their Glow PR parcel a few months back. Rather than a cream, this is a gel moisturiser which I find really light an refreshing to use each morning. It reminds me a bit of an old, firm favourite – clinique moisture surge because of it’s more watery texture.
Next is SPF – something I’m trying to make a conscious effort to use more. I’ve been using the Clinique City Sheer Block 25 SPF which I got in an ASOS Clinique parcel a few months back. This is a really handy fragrance-free SPF which feels lightweight on the skin. Although it claims to be sheer, it does have the slightest tint to it which sometimes means I’m able to wear this without any foundation on top when I’m going for a lighter make-up day. It doesn’t feel greasy on my skin and feels great knowing I’m preventing those summer wrinkles!!
The Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation* was a product I was gifted for an Instagram post a while back, and initially, I thought it was a foundation I would hate. The idea of ‘glowy’ bases scares me a bit. Because of my oilier skin, I’m always afraid I’m going to end up looking like a glitter ball, but that’s not the case with this at all. I’m using shade 1.5N which works great when I’ve got a bit of a tan. It’s lightweight, easy to apply, leaves me glowing while only needing the odd top-up of powder once or twice throughout the day.
I picked up the Infallible concealer on a whim just because I wanted something new to try and I’ve fallen in love with it. It has a super big applicator which I love and brightens my under-eyes so easily. I’ll stick with the Collection Concealer for blemishes, but the Infallible does a great job of highlighting and smoothing.
I’ve raved about the Lash Contour Mascara in my Primark beauty haul way back in January – and I’m still loving it now. For only £2 this mascara separates and lengthens a dream, and has really great lasting power too.
The Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzer is a popular bronzer and is probably the most expensive item I’ve been reaching for this summer. A cream bronzer that can be used underneath or on top of foundation, I find this super easy to blend into my temples and below my cheekbones to add a bit of colour and shape to my face.
Can a gal ever go anywhere without her UD Setting Spray? The All-Nighter setting spray has changed my life ever since I got it. This is always my finishing touch with my summer make-up routine, keeping my make-up from sliding around my face all-day.
Those are my 7 holy grails when it comes to beauty this Summer – what are you reaching for this year?
