Sorry to be that gal, but how are we in May already? 5 months into 2019 seems crazy, but here we are, in the best month of the year (I may be biased here).
We all know by now how much I love a good lifestyle, catch-up, chatty post. So here’s a little update on what my thoughts, plans and to-do’s are going into the month of May.
The last month or two have been a whirlwind. I feel like I’ve just been non-stop – I’ve had work trips away, nights out with friends, and also a couple of trips to London too. I recently spoke about how we need to stop idolising being busy because it’s not all that brilliant. As much as I’ve loved having a jam-packed social life, I also like having time to myself. I think this is something I really learnt at university and is something I need to remind myself of. May is going to be another hectic month, but I’m hoping to spend some more me-time, even if it is just going to bed an hour earlier with a book in hand.
May is going to be SUCH a social month – I’ve got a lot of things planned, and it all kicks off this weekend. I’m heading back to UEA, where I studied for 3 years, to join my old netball squad for their yearly alumni event. I’m looking forward to seeing some old friends and most importantly letting out my inner student again!
The next on the social calendar is an indoor skydive with J. Jamie got this as a gift last year and we’ve finally got round to booking it. I’m slightly terrified, despite it being indoors, but I know it will be good fun. We’re making a day of it and spending the rest of the afternoon in Milton Keynes, so if you have any suggestions of what we can do there, let me know!
Next will be my 22nd birthday (can I still be classed as a teenager please?!). I don’t have any big plans for this, just a nice meal with my loved ones will suit me fine. But it’s always nice to be a princess for the day, right?!
And to finish the month off, my lovely mum and I are seeing Take That at Carrow Road in Norwich. I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Take That, and I bloody love me a good sing-along concert so I’m looking forward to having a few drinks and a good dance too!
Despite lots of plans, I’ve also got a few things on my to-do list. I recently followed Marie Kondo’s fabulous advice and sorted out one chest of drawers in my room. Folding clothes so you can see everything really does make such a difference! So, top of my list this month is to Marie Kondo the rest of my room. I’ve got a bunch of summer clothes under my bed that I need to sort through, and equally I need to store my winter pieces away.
I’ve also accumulated a lot of PR parcels in recent months so it will be good to sort through all my hair and beauty pieces and hopefully get some donated to some local charities.
Also on my list is to sort out this little website of mine. Since the whole deal with *that* theme provider, I’ve been working on getting my website looking how I’d like. While doing so I’ve realised how much my blog in general needs a clean up. I’m going to be spending some time sorting out old content and making sure my posts are SEO optimised and working the best they can.
Finally, April seemed to be a big spending month, so despite my social plans and my Birthday coming up, I’m hoping to save a bit more money… or perhaps score a few more paid collaborations to justify my spending habits!
What have you got planned for the month ahead?
