The nights are drawing in, the weathers getting colder and the shops are stocked with trick or treat for Halloween: It’s officially Autumn. Well, the summer lovers amongst us might argue with that statement, but one thing is for certain: it’s time for a transitional wardrobe.
As much as I love hot, sunny days far more than an autumn chill, I’m definitely a bigger fan of what fashion options the colder months have to offer. Layering, thick knits and doc martens firmly on my feet – you can’t beat it. You could say I’m a little bit excited.
It didn’t take long to purchase my first transitional piece for this year’s wardrobe. I spotted the short wrap cardigan from H&M whilst I was browsing a few weeks back and ever since, whenever there’s been a chill in the air, it’s been on.

The wrap cardigan is a piece everyone needs in their wardrobe as we move into Autumn – I mean, it’s made for layering, right? With that in mind, below I’ve picked out some of my favourites on the high street right now:
If you’re a cosy fan like me (who isn’t?!) then the ASOS design wrap fluffy jumper in brown is your go-to. Like my H&M pick, I love the neutral brown colour of this jumper too – super simple and really easy to style with some jeans for a staple look. This one also comes in a muted pink and pale green and, at the time of writing, the pink is reduced (win!).
As much as I love the neutrals, we all know how much of a fan of colour I am too, though. Fashion union seem to have that covered with this pastel green number and this blue one with some pretty impressive sleeves… the puff sleeves are staying for A/W kids! If the sun has plans on staying a little longer, this short-sleeve number from Stradivarius is a dream!
