I’ve become a real fake tan addict in the past couple of years. I’ve gone from that girl who would only trust your Garnier tanning lotion, to applying fake tan every few weeks. Who knew what a fresh bit of tan did for your self-esteem?! I’d recommend that every girl gives fake tanning a go at least once in their lives.
With that in mind, and having tried quite a few of the fake tan products out there now, I thought I’d round up my top 5 for delivering a natural-looking glow.

Sienna X 1 Hour Mousse
Mousse is definitely my favourite kind of fake tan to use, simply because I find it a lot easier to apply and get an even coat. If I’m short for time the Sienna X 1 hour mousse is my go to. It delivers a nice colour in a short amount of time, but can equally be slept in for a deeper shade too.
Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing foam
Not only do I love the design of Coco & Eve’s Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing foam, but I love the results too. I’ve got it in shade dark and as another mousse product, I find it really easy to apply evenly.
This fake tan also needs a call out for its scent – not a sign of biscuits anywhere. Instead, it has a lovely fruity smell that sticks around too.
Skinny Tan Wonder Serum
The Skinny Tan Wonder Serum is a bit different to most tans in my collection because it’s a serum. I was a bit sceptical of this at first, and I’ll be honest, I have had one or two accidents with this one in the past. But practice makes perfect and if done right, the results are flawless.
I once claimed it was my favourite tan… although still up there in my top 5, I think the classic mousse formula has since knocked it off it’s top spot.
James Read Tan H2O Tanning Mist
Tanning the face is still a job I’m trying to get perfected, but the H2O tanning mist by James Read is a bit of a lifesaver. This tanning mist is a simple option for getting a natural-looking tan on your face – one of the hardest areas I’ve found to get right. Spritzing this on my skin every night before bed results in a nice glow in the morning.
Lusso Tan Rapid Tan Mousse
Lusso Tan is the latest brand in my fake tan collection but is already my go-to after only a few uses. The Rapid Tan Mousse can be applied for different lengths of time depending on the deepness of tan you’re after, though I’ve always chosen to sleep in it giving me the darkest option there is. I’ve found this tan to be the perfect shade for me, lasting a few days to a week before any top-up is required.
