Another month, another Glossybox. I was so pleased to get my Glossybox this month, and even more so when I realised it ‘s theme was ‘Back to School’. Now, I know I’m no longer in education but I’m definitely still getting that back to school slump feeling. Especially after my trip to New York, with no holidays or days off work booked, I feel like I need a little pick me up. This box does just that.
First up in this month’s box is a bubble mask. I’ve seen these all over the place and I’ve been very intrigued by them. They seem super fun and 10 times cleaner and easier than your average face mask. Using activated charcoal and extracts of lime, lemon, apple, orange and grapefruit (total fruit smoothie in this one!) this mask detoxes your skin, refines pores and reduces oil. It’s supposed to create a micro massage which works deep into your pores and cleans away blackheads. on top of this, it’s a cruelty-free item! I’m beyond excited to give this a go. Keep an eye on my Instagram stories this week to see what I think of it!
Next in the box was a facial cloth/scrubber. From America, it’s made using soy and a natural cotton base layer which creates a really rich lather. It’s said to be perfect for sensitive skin and is dermatologically tested and cruelty-free. Travel-size, this should come in handy for my next holiday. I don’t know what I’ll think of this, but I’m going to be testing it out in the mornings this week so watch this space.
The next full-size product is some eyebrow pomade from Bang Beauty. This cream has a velvety texture which ‘allows you to get HD brows at home’. I’m not sure what I think of this addition to this month’s box. It seems silly to be that they’ve included a product that doesn’t work for everyone in terms of shade. I was given ‘Milk Chocolate’ which for me, with blonde hair, is far too dark. The brush that comes with it also seems too thick to get any kind of HD looking brow! I don’t know whether I’ll give this a go just to see the texture, but it’s certainly something I can’t be using and leaving the house with!!
A lipstick/lip liner is the perfect addition to this box – the ideal pick me up and product to wear for that boss-girl mentality. This is a soft wax lip pencil with a super creamy formula. The shade Rosewood is a perfect dark nude with hints of purple in it. This is the winner product of the box for sure, with RRP of £25!! I’ll definitely be rocking this to work this week!
A deluxe mini from Grow Gorgeous, the Scalp Detox should be a regular part of your routine. Pomegranate enzymes and natural castor oil beads remove impurities that block your roots to create the perfect environment for healthy hair growth. It’s meant to be used 1-2 times a week as a pre-wash treatment. I’ve never used anything like this before, so I’ll be interested to see the results…
Finally, whether you’re back to school or back to work, you’re always going to need some wet wipes. This is a handy little packet perfect for your handbag for whenever you need to freshen or clean up. You’ll never know when you’ll need one! These have already found a home at my work.
