If there’s one item in my wardrobe that I’m most excited to get back out this autumn, it’s the shacket. I picked up the it shacket from H&M last year and wore it religiously for as long as I possibly could before the weather got too warm.
The term shacket is relatively new in the fashion world, but is pretty self-explanatory. The shacket is a mix between shirt and a jacket, usually just a thicker style shirt which is ideal for layering.
The shacket: half-way between a shirt and a jacket. The item you need in your wardrobe this autumn.
I got so much wear out of my H&M shacket last year that I’ve already started building my collection this season. And if you’re thinking you might need to do the same – don’t you worry, I’ve done the hard work for you. Take a look at my top high street picks below.
My top shacket picks
H&M are definitely pulling out all the stops after the success of last years Herringbone jacket. The wool-blend shacket is really similar to the Herringbone, but much thicker so ideal to take into winter too. Or if you’re more of an animal print fan, this cotton twill leopard print number will be a winner. Styled with some leather bottoms and doc martens? Winner. One of my favourites from H&M though has to be the imitation leather shacket – a real statement piece.
A shacket doesn’t have to be a statement piece though – you can also keep it neutral and basic. I love the baby pink shade of the ASOS extreme sleeve shacket, or if you’ve got a beige aesthetic going on, this felted weave one is a dream.
Are you a fan of the shacket?
Lucy
