The only things I picked up in the January sales this year were these 5 products from The Body Shop, which was pretty successful if you ask me. After giving The Body Shop Carrot Cleanser a go late last year, and falling in love with it, I decided to pick a few more items up to give a try.
I only selected items which were on sale (let’s be honest, this was a ‘nice to have’ order, and not a ‘need’ order, so I couldn’t ~quite~ justify the full prices), but I managed to pick up a few interesting products from 4 of their ranges: Tea Tree, Aloe, Vitamin E and Vitamin C. Let’s take a look, shall we?
Tea Tree Anti Imperfection Night Mask
The Tea Tree Anti Imperfection Night Mask, from the Tea Tree range at The Body Shop, is a night mask formulated to treat and care for blemishes and imperfections while you sleep. It’s made using some skincare holy-grail ingredients including salicylic acid tea tree oil, and helps reduce the size and number of imperfections overnight.
First things first, I love the packaging of this product. The glass jar makes it immediately look and feel a lot pricier than it actually is – £12. You can immediately smell that oh-so-famous tea tree scent that seems as if it could banish a zit the minute it comes into close proximity with one. The formula of this is a funny one – it’s almost jelly-like in texture, but still feels super light on the skin and sinks in quickly.
Having used this a few times now, I can tell it’s going to be a firm favourite in my skincare collection going forward. I wake with my skin feeling cleansed and toned, and less greasy. Thankfully I’ve had no major breakouts in a while (touch wood!), but where I have, this has helped speed up the healing process for sure.
Aloe Soothing Rescue Cream Mask
The Aloe Soothing Rescue Cream Mask, from the Aloe range at The Body Shop, is a mask designed to soothe discomfort and build the skin’s natural defences to irritation. And like the Tea Tree mask, this is an overnight job too.
The packaging of this isn’t quite as luxe as the Tea Tree mask, and it’s frustrating that it doesn’t have an extra little cover underneath the lid once you open it too, as I’ve ended up opening it and spilling a lot of product a couple of times now.
The formula of this mask is a lot runnier than I expected and feels a little greasy on the hands, but weirdly not on the face – it seems to sink into the skin here a lot better. I try to use this once a week and I’ve found this has helped with redness especially.

Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream
The Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream, from the (yep, you guessed it..) Vitamin E range and is a rich cream that protects, replenishes and helps to prevent moisture-loss overnight. This is almost the complete opposite to the Aloe Soothing Rescue Cream Mask, and is really thick in texture.
I tend to get quite oily skin throughout the day, but using this in my nightly routine definitely seems to have reduced that… my skin was clearly just dehydrated after all!
My only peeve around this product would be the price – at full price this costs £15 for a small 50ml pot.
Vitamin E Refreshing Eyes Cube
The Vitamin E Refreshing Eyes Cube was a bit of an odd buy for me, I very rarely get any products specifically for the eye area. This product, which reminds me massively of 4Head which I used a lot in my childhood, is made to moisturise, cool and instantly revive the appearance of tired eyes.
This is a nice product – but that’s about it. I use this in the morning, after my skincare but prior to make-up application, and although it feels really nice on the skin, I don’t think it does much in de-puffing or making me look more ‘refreshed’.
Vitamin C Skin Reviver
The Vitamin C Skin Reviver is an instant smoother to help combat dull, tired complexions. You use this after moisturising to give the skin a silky-smooth finish, perfect for make-up application. From the Vitamin C range, this has the most divine orange/citrusy scent which I love first thing in the morning.
This comes with a handy pump, and half a pump is enough for the full face. You can see some shimmer in the product, but this applies as a nice glow on the face. I’ve really loved using this as a primer in my make-up routine. It smoothes my skin beautifully and has made it the easiest my skin has ever been for foundation and concealer application.
The £17 price tag is a little on the higher end for me, but I can see this bottle lasting me a while, so I think it’s worth it.
