If you know me, you know I hate spending money on make-up. Shoes and bags? Sure, take my money, but not make-up. I suppose it’s because clothes are my thing, and make-up just isn’t, but sometimes it’s worth spending a bit of extra money.
The Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation was a foundation that was on my wishlist for a long time, and when I had a bit of difficulty finding a foundation that gave me the coverage I was after, and that didn’t leave me looking like a disco ball halfway through the day, I figured it was finally time to fork out £34 to try one.
Is Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation worth it?
Double Wear is a liquid foundation that comes in a glass bottle – the bottle itself makes it feel worth its £34 price tag! I’ve opted to keep it in the box to keep it as clean as possible for as long as possible. Unfortunately, this doesn’t come with a pump, which can be a bit of hassle but I’ve been fine with it so far.
I’ve used both a buffing brush and beauty blender to apply this, and prefer the latter although both give a nice finish. The formula of double wear, as you’d expect, is thicker but still feels light on the skin, and does a great job on coverage. When using Double Wear, I usually only need a little extra concealer under the eyes and on any blemishes, whereas before I’ve touched up my entire face with concealer at times!
The shade, Bone (1W1) is absolutely perfect for me too, considering I ordered online. Setting with a little translucent powder when my skin is a bit oilier, I find this foundation sits perfectly throughout the day, without giving me that mid-day-shine I was finding before!
Despite being double what I’d usually spend on a foundation, Estee Lauder Double Wear has fully converted me.
What’s your favourite foundation? Do you have any high-end favourites?
