Last week I was sent a PR parcel with the full collection of PopBeauty’s Permanent Pout Lipsticks*. PopBeauty is a brand I’d not previously heard of, but boy was I excited when I saw 9 brand new, lipsticks to give a try, all in beautiful shades too!
PopBeauty
Seeing as PopBeauty were a brand new brand for me, I decided to do a little bit of research. Pop Beauty is “famous for vibrant colours, innovative and foolproof makeup artist tips and tricks”. It began in London but now operates world-wide, with an aim to keep a finger on the pulse of the world of fashion, art and music.
Sound good? Onto the products.
PopBeauty Permanent Pout Lipsticks
The Permanent Pout Lipsticks are liquid lipsticks with a velvet-matte finish. There are 15 shades in total, which are long-lasting, paraben-free and not tested on animals.
These are liquid lipsticks which are easy enough to apply, drying quickly. The coverage is super impressive – with only a little needed bit needed to go a long way! My favourite shades on first look were Red Velvet, a dark red/berry which is a go-to shade for this time of year Razzle Rose, a really wearable nude.
The lasting power of these is INSANE. I started by swatching on my hand and momentarily wondered if I would be wearing lipstick on my hand for the rest of time. A bit of micellar water and a good scrub did the job, though.
One negative about these I’ve found is that on first application (I used Red Velvet) the colour crumbled on my lips after a few minutes wear. Since then I’ve tried a couple of other shades, after applying vaseline, and I still find it quite uncomfortable and crumbly after an hour or so of wear. A little bit of vaseline on top helped this, but not enough for me to continue using. I won’t be getting rid of them just yet, before that I think I’ll give it a go when the weather picks up to see if this is having an effect on my lips… it is dry-lip season after all!
It’s a real shame I didn’t get along with the PopBeauty Permanent Pout Lipsticks as much as I’d hoped. Have you tried them yet?
Lucy x
