So 2019 is almost up. Where the hell did the last 10 months go?! I feel as though the older I get, the quicker time seems to be flying by, but also the more excited I get for the future.
The last few months have been a whirlwind. I had an amazing summer with a last-minute trip to Amsterdam, finally saw some progress with my Instagram, was told I could be made redundant, but instead scored myself a promotion, and more recently took a big old break in Rhodes for 10 days. A lot has happened, but 2 months is still a lot of time for more things. Here are some of my hopes and plans for the remainder of 2019…
The remainder of 2019
I feel like my break to Rhodes last week has really left me feeling relaxed but inspired and ready for a whole new burst of activity. I needed my holiday break badly, and it reminded me how important it is to have time off not just for my mental health, but my productivity too.
A new role…
I think the most exciting thing for me coming back to was my new role at work. I was successful in applying for a role dedicated to social media, and from November will be a Social Assistant Manager which is super exciting. Not only is this a big step up in career level, but it’s also something I’m really proud of as previously social media hadn’t been a big focus for my company for a long time. Since joining in June last year, I’ve proved the need for it all on my own, and now a whole team will be dedicated to it… pretty cool stuff.
I’m looking forward to focusing on social media a bit more, taking on more work, bringing in more of my own knowledge, and mostly proving myself in this new position.
From work social, to my own social
I feel like I can’t do one of these goals/plans posts without talking about my own social. Instagram has definitely taken over in the last year for me, becoming a bigger priority than my blog. Despite the struggles (there’s a lot with Instagram) I have seen improvements and I’m getting ever closer to that big 10k. I’m hoping to reach it by the end of the year and have a few plans to improve the content I’m putting out there.
Despite Instagram taking the fore-front right now, I don’t want to neglect my blog. I’ve posted a lot less frequently recently and to be honest, I’m ok with that. I’ve struggled for inspiration for a while now, but really want to be sure that the content I’m putting out is quality, not quantity. A little brainstorm has resulted in some new post ideas, but I’ll be sticking with my quality over quantity mantra going forward.
Getting my arse in gear (with pretty much everything!)
As always, I’m super inspired at the moment and there are a lot of things I want to get my arse into gear with…
- Gym – now I’m back from holiday I want to focus on cardio, getting my fitness up and attending more classes as opposed to doing my own thing
- Routine – work, gym, blog, repeat. Getting back into a routine will be tough but it makes life SO much easier.
- Clear out – I’ve started with my clothes, but the rest of my drawers including make-up, skincare and everything else need a major clearout
- CHRISTMAS! – I’m determined to be prepared this year, so it’s officially time to start shopping…
What are your plans for the rest of the year?
