Who Inspires Your Prom Dress Style Choice?

The easiest way to look for fashion inspiration is to check out what celebrities are wearing at runways and red carpet events. From stunning flowing long dresses to dazzling cocktail dresses worn by your favorite celebrities and fashion icons, anyone of these should spark interest in certain dress designs or styles that you can wear to your own prom or homecoming parties.

There are a number of personalities whom we consider as fashion influencers and whose creative styles have the capacity to inspire new trends. Plus, with their social media accounts, these influencers inspire looks that their millions of followers aim to also achieve. Indeed, even the 2019 plus size prom dresses that Peaches Boutique is selling are inspired by the ensembles worn by our fashion icons during the most recent galas and social gatherings.

Here are some prom dress style inspirations as donned by two of our favorite celebrities:

  1. Emma Watson

Best known for her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film franchise, Watson also advocates for ethical and sustainable fashion brands. She wears some of the most notable designs as she walks the red carpet, attends galas, endorses movies, and promotes advocacies, including princess-inspired ball gowns and avant-garde mini dresses. Undeniably, we have seen how this young lady’s fashion style has beautifully evolved with every red carpet appearance.

If you want to wear a long gown to prom, you can take a cue from the vintage Ralph Lauren embellished black gown that Watson wore to the 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party or go for a crisp-looking, bardot-top white dress with a long slit. The dresses that Watson wore when she was promoting Beauty and The Beast in 2017 were also breath-taking and were not limited to the custom-made Belle-inspired yellow silk dress by Dior, which she wore to a reading at the New York Film Society for Kids, the nude Elie Saab gown embellished with crystals and bird designs from head-to-toe that Watson wore at the Asian premiere, and the unforgettable bespoke Emilia Wickstead dress that she wore for the UK premiere of the movie.

  1. Ariana Grande

Singer, songwriter, and actress Ariana Grande’s red carpet looks are indeed worth taking inspiration from. The newly-engaged Grande was a stunner at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards held at Radio City Music Hall. Apart from her much-talked about custom-made engagement ring, Grande wore a striking chrome plated rubber bustier and mini skirt with thigh-high metallic boots. If you are as confident this young lady, then you can surely be a head-turner in this ensemble.

For those who want a sweet and more feminine appeal, you can take inspiration from Grande’s red carpet outfit at the 2014 Grammy Awards, which was held at the Los Angeles Staples Center. The tea-length floral and black dress by Dolce & Gabbana was accessorized with delicate jewelleries and ballet-pink satin pumps.

Also, if you want to wear a statement outfit to your prom, why not take inspiration from Grande’s Vera Wang long gown at the 2018 Met Ball? The unique dress represents the iconic ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

Watson and Grande are just two of many celebrities whose fashion choices influence and inspire many prom dress styles. From little black dresses to traditional formal gowns, you will never run out of choices even with just one red carpet event.

When looking at prom dress trends for the year 2019, choose a style that not only replicates your favorite celebrity’s style but actually says a lot about who you are and makes you feel beautiful while you’re wearing it.
