A few months back I decided I needed to get my game on when it came to make-up. I’ve always loved makeup but ultimately clothes and fashion came before it, meaning my make-up collection was left feeling a bit unloved.
I decided to start searching again for some top makeup products and figured I’d start with primers. I never really used primers – I never understood fully what they did and never found they made much of an impact. That was of course until I tried The Ordinary High Spreadability Fluid Primer.
On the initial use of this primer, I was a bit nervous. I still don’t know how I feel about silicone primers which this one certainly is. The bottle has a dropper which some people aren’t such a big fan of, but I actually really love it. I’m able to pick up a decent amount of product, drop it onto my fingers and rub it into my skin with my fingertips. I focus on my t-zone and cheeks where my pores are most visible but apply it everywhere.
It smooths the skin beautifully. Hiding pores, I’m not so sure about, but I’m willing to look past it for the price of this primer. It leaves my skin perfectly for my foundation application, and my makeup does seem to last that little bit better throughout the day. I’ve found it not to break me out, nor dry me out in any way. In fact, it doesn’t seem to have affected my skin at all!
Overall, I really do like this primer. I’m sure it’s not the best out there, but for the price, I can see myself repurchasing to have as a spare while I search for a better alternative!
What primers do you recommend I try next?
