Every year I like to invest in a new scent. Last year I got a sample of Black Opium by YSL through the post, and after getting a lot of compliments on it I decided to ask for the full version for Christmas.
For years now, Paco Rabanne Olympea has been my go-to scent. The proof for that is here – where it features in my August 2015 favourites!! I needed a new smell. I know Black Opium isn’t a new fragrance but felt a feature on the blog was needed since I love it so much.
YSL describe it as a ‘feminine and glam rock fragrance, full of mystery and energy’. ‘An addictive gourmand floral with notes of: Black Coffee – for a shot of adrenaline; White Florals – to instantly seduce; and Vanilla – for sweetness and sensuality’.
I really love this scent – it’s sexy, strong and feminine. The dark sparkly bottle suggests it to be a night time fragrance but I’ve been wearing it during the day too – in my opinion, it’s not too overpowering for every day.
If Black Opium isn’t for you – YSL have a whole range of Opiums so perhaps something else could take your fancy..
