Last week I received a little box of goodies from Crown Brush. Given the choice of a few products from their site, I instantly knew I had to get my hands on the 35 Colour Rose Gold Palette – the perfect Morphe 35O dupe – something I’ve been wanting for ages now! Other than that, I was interested to see what products Crown Brush recommended and let the rest up to them. Alongside the palette, I found two lipsticks and a selection of brushes.
The lipsticks I recieved were Sex Kitten – a light/medium purple shade, something I’d never buy myself, and something a bit more ‘me’ – Papaya Paradise, which is a coral-toned pink. Both of these claim to be matte – something I don’t necessarily agree with but isn’t a negative. I find these to be more on the moisturising side with a bit too much gloss to be matte, but really comfortable to wear. I’m really excited to give Sex Kitten a whirl in the cooler months!
The brushes I was sent were mostly eye brushes in one form or another, each being handy for seperate jobs. C530 is a tapered brush useful for contour but also under-eye powder, a type brush that was previously missing from my collection. I really loved C510, especially in conjunction with the palette. It’s an oval shader brush, perfect for packing on the eyeshadow. This, along with C511 to blend is the perfect duo.
Now onto the show stopper – the 35 Colour Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette. I’ve always wanted a big old palette full of eyeshadows, and this little number is fulfilling all of those dreams. I managed to have a proper play with the shades at V Festival last weekend – there is the perfect mix of matte and shimmer shades, ranging from the shimmery whites, oranges, golds, and reds. Some more experimenting is definitely needed to see the full extent of this palette but thus far I’ve really loved it, the shadows are pigmented and blend beautifully.
