Grace and Frankie
I love this show. I only recently started watching Grace and Frankie, as an alternative for when I’m not prepared for the emotional trauma of Greys Anatomy (another big recommendation despite it not being available on Netflix!). This story follows the unlikely friendship of Grace and Frankie, after their husbands leave them for each other. At 30 minutes per episode, it’s a really fun, light-hearted and easy watch!
Jane The Virgin
I managed to get through the entirety of this show in just a month or two before Christmas – that’s pretty impressive when you realise there’s 4 seasons of 20+ episodes! Jane The Virgin follows the story of Jane, a virgin, who is accidentally artificially inseminated and then has quite the rollercoaster of a life with a hot love triangle and the obvious issue of being a pregnant virgin. It’s another really fun, super ridiculous watch.
Stranger Things
Stranger Things is a little different to my previous suggestions. If you’re a bit of a wimp like me, this might be one to watch with your other half! Stranger Things is a science-horror fiction set in the 80s, and follows the disappearance of a young boy, with some supernatural events occurring alongside. It’s a little hard to get into, but really is a brilliant series. Series 2 has to be my favourite – you’ll be completely gripped!
Girlboss
I watched Girlboss after reading the oh so famous Girlboss book by Sophia Amoruso. Although this series was unfortunately cut after just one season, I loved it nonetheless. It’s great being able to follow Sophia through her journey of being unemployed, to a self-employed businesswoman, and dealing with life as her own boss. This is a great, easy and light-hearted watch!
The Fundamentals of Caring
The only film of the lot, The Fundamentals of Carings is a tear-jerker, taking you on a journey of hope and friendship. A retired writer Paul takes on the role of caregiver for a disabled teenager in which they go on a trip of a lifetime together, and learn a few things along the way. This film is a total must-watch and although will inevitably provoke a few tears, it’ll give you a warm a fuzzy feeling inside too!
What are your favourites on Netflix right now? I’d love to know!
