If you’ve been on Instagram at any point during the last few months, you’ll have probably come across the Estrid Razor. Now, we may be in the middle of not just winter, but a national lockdown too, and although I’m always up for new inventive ways to keep warm growing my leg hair so long that I resemble a gorilla isn’t one of them. No offence of course to those who do prefer a longer-haired look – I can’t deny that I am extremely jealous of the extra time you must get back in your week. But for me, there’s no better feeling than that freshly-shaven-leg-on-clean-bedding feeling.
The Estrid Razor has been all over my Instagram feed recently, and when the team reached out to offer my own little Estrid, I jumped at the chance. Here’s how I’ve found it so far.
The Estrid Razor
Estrid are changing the razor game. Estrid believe that shaving is a choice – which it absolutely is. And if shaving is for you, they’re providing the cute, kind and cheap tool to do it with.
I really loved reading about Estrid’s mission. The Estrid razor is built specifically for woman. You know how men’s razors are always so much better than woman’s, and often cheaper too, just because they’re not pink? Estrid are changing that. The razor is built for the female shape, is cruelty free and high quality, all whilst being affordable too.
One of the best things about the Estrid Razor is that it’s a subscription. You order the Starter Kit, consisting of your handle – in one of five adorable colours – your wall holder to match, and then two cartridges to start you off. From there, you select how often you want to receive 4 extra cartridges: once a month, every other month, or every third month, all dependent on how often you shave. And the cartridges cost just £9.95 every time you need them.
I really love the subscription format – knowing that I’m all set to receive some fresh cartridges every month gives me one less thing to worry about. And hopefully, will avoid any awkward forgot-to-save moments, too.
So, how is it to use?
It’s all well and good to be a brand with great values and a great model.. but it’s not any good if the product doesn’t work! Fortunately for Estrid though, their product does work. In fact, it works really well.
I tend to shave once a week, sometimes more often depending on what I’m up to, so every other month subscription works best for me. The razor itself is metal, sturdy and feels high quality. The shape works well on every nook and cranny of my body) (and I mean every nook and cranny), and the built-in lubricating strip helps the razor blade glide along seamlessly. I don’t tend to use shaving gel or the equivalent, and I don’t feel like I need to with the Estrid either.
Overall, I’m a really big fan of the Estrid Razor. They’re a great company with great values, cruelty-free and sustainable, doing their bit for the environment. I think it’s time I waved goodbye to the disposable plastic razors and welcome the Estrid subscription in.

Have you tried the Estrid Razor?
