Trying out the new Cosy Club menu

Trying out the new Cosy Club menu // LUCY-COLE

Last week Jamie and I were invited out to give the new menu at Cosy Club Ipswich a try. Fairly new in Ipswich, I’d been to Cosy Club before for drinks but never for a full sit down meal so I was excited to see how well the food compared!

We were kindly shown to our seats, and ordered some drinks and olives and bread to nibble on while we decided on our meals. My cocktail of choice was Strawberries and Cream, a mix of gin, vanilla, strawberries and soda and oh my was it delicious! So much so I ordered it again! Jamie went for a Spiced Pineapple Old Fashioned – a mix of bourbon, pineapple syrup and orange bitters. This was a bit stronger than mine but equally delicious!

After scouring the menus we decided on two of the new tapas for starters. I opted for the Halloumi Sticks served with chipotle jam, and Jamie the Pulled Chicken and Chorizo served with crispy potatoes. My halloumi sticks were crispy and the jam was the perfect addition, although I did have a bit of food envy when I tried Jamie’s Chicken and Chorizo! Both starters were the perfect size and I’m definitely keen to return and try some more of the tapas range!!

After starters came our mains, where I went for the Roasted Chicken Breast, which was filled with mozzarella, balsamic tomatoes and pesto, wrapped in smoked bacon and served with baby kale, wood-roasted peppers, parmesan potatoes and a balsamic dressing. This not only looked beautiful but tasted it too! The cheese, tomatoes and pesto filling was so delicious and I felt the potatoes were a perfect addition to the chicken.

Jamie went for the Thai Green Chicken Curry, served with coconut and coriander rice, prawn crackers, spring rolls and sweet chilli dipping sauce. I was SO impressed with how this was presented – I was totally eyeing up the gold tray to add to my blog photography prop collection!! Jamie’s meal was equally as delicious as the plate was soon cleared.

The mains were great, and although we were full to our stomachs we knew we had to give the desserts a go! I ordered the Warm Chocolate Brownie with chocolate sauce and ice cream (a firm favourite dessert of mine, wherever we eat) and Jamie had the new Nutella and Vanilla Cream Doughnut topped with candyfloss and raspberry dust. My brownie was the perfect finish to the meal, with ice cream to brownie ratio being spot on. Jamie’s doughnut looked so fun with the candyfloss, and despite being a bit too sickly for me, he finished the lot and really enjoyed it!

Overall Jamie and I really loved our experience at Cosy Club. We felt well looked after, waiting times were short and the food was delicious! We can’t wait to give them another visit again soon!
