How I'm Stepping Up My Blogging Game

Tuesday, 11 July 2017

In the past few months I've been the proudest of my blog I've ever been. I've really committed to making it my place on the internet that I want to show off, and put a lot of time and effort into it. I'm stepping up my game and today I thought I'd share with you just how I'm doing that!

Photography.

This is probably the biggest thing that's changed in the past year. I've realised the importance of great photography, and focused on this the most. I've invested into some equipment like making my own flatlay board, and getting a few accessories to add to it. Next up is a softbox and a new camera (send suggestions my way!). No doubt that my boyfriend Jamie has massively helped with this aspect - his eye for creativity and help with all my outfit posts has been brilliant. I've still got a long way to go but I'm learning and slowly seeing improvements!

Frequent Posting.

So far this year I've posted at least twice a week without fail - something I'm really proud of, especially with all my uni work and job. I've committed to this and hope to keep it up for the rest of the year, and found sticking to a routine of regular blogging has really helped.

Interacting.

Thanks to the brilliant alogrithm on insta, social media promotion has been a struggle. I've really tried to interact more both on instagram and twitter, and get involved in the blogging community which I had never really done before. Not only is it helping my blog, it's opened me up to wonderful people of the blogosphere!

Scheduling.

I'm getting into scheduling posts every week, alongside tweets and planning my instagrams too. All of which is keeping me organised and making sure I'm sharing a good amount of my content across social medias.

Passion.

Finally, I'm putting passion into my content. With wanting to improve my blogging game has come a lot of love for what I'm doing again. For me, this is the most important thing.

  1. I think that great photos make a huge difference in 'inviting' someone to click and read the post, my photos are not perfect but clearly, they are much better since a year ago. I have lots of things to learn though. And interacting with other bloggers is also important, it's nice to help and support each other, isn't it? :)

  3. Engagement helps a lot! I've borderline given up with Instagram, but Twitter and Pinterest seems to work well. I feel like I need to up my photography game...

  4. I started sticking with 2 posts\week a couple of months ago focused on my photography (I will never ever publish a good post with bad photos even if I have the text ready to go) and sometimes I don't feel passionate but under pressure (especially because I need to focus on my Uni exams, so this is not the only thing I need to do). :\
    Loved the post xx

  6. I can relate to this so much, I'm currently trying to push myself by doing all of these things too. I've 100% noticed the more you put in, the more you get, especially with engagement!

  7. Great plans lovely! My favourite is the last one - passion goes a long way I always think. I want to buy a new camera so much, but my bank balance isnt really agreeing with me at the moment...maybe in a few months time :) So impressive that you have posted twice a week throughout 2017 so far, I've been blogging three months now and am not sure how much longer I can keep up with twice weekly posts!
