10 things I want to do in my 20s

Tuesday, 23 May 2017

I'm officially an adult! Today is my 20th Birthday and I can't quite believe that I'm saying goodbye to my teen years. Becoming an adult is SO scary but I know there are so many exciting things to come. While typing this up I just realised how ironic it is that I'm talking about being a grown up and yet the image to this post is me, outside a toy shop, with bubbles. Gotta keep a bit of kid in me haven't I?! To have a bit of fun I decided to make up a list of 10 things I want to do in my 20s - it definitely seems like the next 10 years are going to be the most life-changing of all so here goes!

Decide on my career path. This is a big one for me. I'm going to get my degree in Geography next year but I am still so clueless on what path I'm yet to take. Finding something I love and want to do to earn my living is something I would love to do, sooner rather than later!

See a friend get married. How exciting is this?! With 20s comes weddings, I hope! Maybe I'll even get to be a bridesmaid!

Get engaged. Of course, I'd quite like to get engaged myself in my 20s too, maybe even married, who knows?! Jamie I know you're reading this - no rush for a proposal right now but when you do it, it best be super romantic, ok?

Girls city break. I love travelling and something I'd love to do is have a little getaway with my bezzies Alice and Anna. My school friends and I had a 'girls holiday' at the end of sixth form which was such a ball, I'd love to be able to do something similar again with a little less booze and a little more culture.

Get a dog. I'm not sure children will be on the way until my 30s or at least late 20s, but a dog is totally the first step before that right?! I want my own bundle of fluff to greet me with excitement and a waggy tail everytime I get home.

Reach 1000 followers on my blog. I don't have any plans on giving up my blog just yet. Who knows if I'll manage to keep posts constant, but I'd really love to continue posting. Having this little creative corner in the internet is so rewarding and something I really do enjoy doing. Reaching 1k would be such a great milestone for me.

Get a car. I do technically half have a car. I'm signed onto my mums insurance so use her car when I need to because she's a star, but getting my own car which I have paid for (or will do eventually) is something I will love. Right now I'm loving the Vauxhall Adam!

Visit the Blue Lagoon. Iceland has been on my bucketlist for ages now, especially as both of my best friends visited it this year (and neither put me in their suitcase, I know right?!). It seems like such a beautiful place and the Blue Lagoon looks just dreamy.

Travel America. I'm not sure if this will be 100% possible, but J and I are always talking about our dreams to travel America. my absolute dream would be to save enough up to spend a few months over there.

Get my own place with Jamie. Moving out of home is something that will be so exciting but sad at the same time. I'd love to be able to find my own place with J, but don't worry mum, I will definitely be returning every Sunday for a home cooked roast.

That was a pretty scary but exciting post to write - what do you guys want to do or have you done in your twenties?!

I'm still trying to figure out what my career path is going to be but I have recently moved in with my boyfriend, it really is great having your own space.

    Have a great day!

  7. This is a lovely little list - and Happy Birthday! Iceland is definitely on my list to visit in my twenties, still got a few years to fit it in so hopefully I manage it haha. The best thing I did in my twenties is quit my job and go travelling by myself for 6 months. Don't worry about your career path, your 'dream job' will probably change throughout your life anyway - I panicked about it when I left uni but there really is no rush :)
