Stargazer Make up

Wednesday, 30 October 2013

Last week I recieved a cute little package in the post full of Star Gazer goodies. Originally, I'd only ever heard of the brands nail polishes so I was excited to recieve some different products. I recieved two eyeshadows, a blusher, a lip gloss and a nail polish. Apologies for the awful out of focus photos, I was in a rush as daylight was running out as well as my battery and I only realised as I ulpoaded these to my laptop! Also, the photo's definitely don't do justice for the eyeshadows and blusher especially.

First up, the eyeshadows. I'm a big neutral-eye wearer so was a bit put off by Plush Purple at first. It's an electric lilac with shimmer in it. Although it scared me at first, I was amazed by the pigmentation of this colour and can imagine it looking beautiful on a green eye.

The second colour is Champagne and is a gorgeous subtle shimmer. It appears more brown in the pan however transfers onto the skin as a slightly more white shine. The pigmentation isn't quite as strong as Plush Purple, but I can see it as being the perfect inner corner and brow bone highlight.

Next is the blusher and in shade Blusher 5, it was the product I was most looking forward to. The colour is a beautiful peachy-coral which is my favourite kind of blusher to wear,. It's a subtle but gorgeous colour, with again great pigmentation as well as a bit of shimmer to give off a healthy looking glow.

I'm not a massive lip gloss wearere but after seeing TOWIE come back onto my TV screen I've decided I need to make more effort - do those girls ever not have any gloss on?! The lip gloss is in shade Natural and comes in a perfect handbag size tube. In the tube it looks like it has more of a pinky colour to it despite the Natural shade, however when on the lips it is super natural giving a gloss and sheer colour. I'm definitely going to be using this more often!

Finally was the nail varnish. The shade is Nail Polish 106, a shiny purple colour in the pot, but as you can see it is a much more pinky colour on the nails. The picture shows my nails with 3 coats of the colour. I'd say 2 was more that enough - I just seem to always pack on lots of layers regardless of the opaque-ness! I adore this shade, however it did chip after two days but that was probably no fault but my own as I didn't put a top coat on!!

This is what I wore to see Nina Nesbitt a few weeks back - hence the Nina lyrics as the blog posts title! I always find disco pants are a safe option for concerts - they're not as hot as jeans and there's no chance of flashing your knickers, although you still look like you've made an effort! These ones are deffo a size too small though!!

Good news, I'm officially getting my room painted on Monday which means I'll be saying goodbye to my lyric/picture wall and my other wall full of holes in it due to my good old fangirl days of filling every square inch with a poster of The Wanted (trust me, if it was acceptable I totally would still do that) ((I also may  or may not still have my wardrobe completely covered in magazine cut outs of them)) (((I definitely do))). I'm thinking of taking some photo's of my room now and after the paint job and doing a big room tour sometime soon? I've seen a few people asking for make-up storage posts etc, and it would be nice to do something different for a change!!

I've been wanting to show this dress for a while now. It's such a little gem from Primark. I love the pattern, colours, and of course the price tag!! I was so tempted to buy a few other designs as they have loads in right now but I just find it a bit restricting when moving your arms about because of the material, and I never seem to wear dresses in the winter, tights are far too much effort!!

Thanks to everyone who commented on THIS post about my hair, sorry to disappoint but it's hasn't been cut at all, I just had it in a high ponytail!! Although I am deffo thinking of having it cut short, although that's a bit daring to me. Chances are I'd do it and it'd look awful, my hair isn't thick enough to look good with any cut! What do you think?

Ebay Wishlist #6

Saturday, 19 October 2013

This is probably one of my all time favourite Ebay Wishlists! I am especially loving the Coltrane dupes and the watch. The boots are so cheap and if I had the confidence to wear them, I would have them in my ebay basket already! I found this watch after wanting a new one and finding a similar one on Asos for £20. I wanted a map-print watch from Urban Outfitters a few months back so when I found this for a bargain price of £3 I was obviously happy! I just bought it for the Christmas Elves to wrap up and give to me this year.

Short but sweet post this week seeing as my dog has decided to sit on my arm and disable me from typing with any ease at all - damn Bobbie and his cuddling needs!! I love this top I was sent from Oasap the other week - I love the sheer paneling of it, deffo makes it a little more exciting!! I've also been living in this cardi, it's so easy to chuck on top of an outfit and is super cosy too!

You're nobody till somebody loves you

I'm super sorry about the lack of posts recently, I've had SO many outfits I've wanted to picture but I have no time in the morning and I do sports after school so come home in my sports gear and looking like a sweaty rat. I've had lots of homework to do at the weekends too but I'm hoping to spend a day of taking outfit pictures soon! The lighting, as you can see in this picture is also proving to be difficult, you might have to get used to the yellow tone as it's getting darker and more miserable outside!

Last week was a hectic one - my mum managed to get me VIP tickets to see The Wanted at Nottingham on their world tour next year so I'm super happy to be meeting them again, I also saw Nina Nesbitt on Friday night with my friend Alice, she was incredible and I am loooooving her support act, his name is Daniel James, deffo go check him out! And finally, my other friend Alice (not all my friends are called Alice I swear) managed to get BBC R1 Teen Awards tickets so I'll be off to Wembley in two weeks to that - exciting times!!

I will always want you

I was a bit nervous about wearing this outfit but after seeing so many people on X Factor style it last weekend I decided to bite the bullet - and I'm glad I did! I know it's nothing special but it's one of those outfits you put on and just feel great it. I really want to style it up next time and pair it with my heeled boots rather than converse.

We don't have to worry

Fun fact of the day: This day I ended up changing both my jacket and shoes half way through the day because my friend accidently spilt her bright orange pasta all over me. All I can say is thank goodness I have a brilliant mummy who saved both of them from being stained. I love this casual look - a jumper, leggings and my denim jacket is my go-to autmn/winter look, and it's so damn comfortable.

Scarlett Perfume
I got this perfume last year in duty free and it smells so good, despite the fact I bought it for the pretty bottle. It's a fairly floral smell and I've found myself wearing it daily recently and getting a few compliments!

Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo - On and on bronze
The hype for these was a while ago but I've found myself going back to this little beauty recently, particularly for those days when I can't be bothered or don't had time for my makeup. it's super easy to apply, is a subtle but well pigmented colour and blends beautifully. I've found it also works brilliantly as a base for my eyeshadows and keeps them put a bit better acting like a primer!

Witch Hazel anti-blemish Primer
I bought this primer a while ago after my Nivea one left my skin dry. It's silicone based and only a little is needed. I've been using it every morning before I apply my make-up and it's definitely minimised my pores and helped my make-up stay put. I wouldn't necerssarily say it's prevented any breakouts though.

I've got back into the habit of wearing a watch every day now I'm back at Sixth Form and this Urban Outfitters one is the only I own - it actually has two other straps that you can change however this is my favourite. I'm on the hunt for one with a brown strap and bigger face for christmas so let me know if you reccomend one!

Glamour Magazine
I bought Glamour Magazine as The Wanted had done an interview with them, and I was really impressed with the magazine as a whole - it was cheaper than usual but I'm pretty sure it's normally only £2 or £3 anyway. It had so much to read and it took me quite a while to get through it all too which I always like in a Magazine. I'll deffo purchase this more often now.

Music -Wrecking Ball - Miley Cyrus
Yes, the video is awful. Really, really awful. But the song is SO good. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it and I love the message it puts across. I'm excited to hear more of Miley's album!
