Review: Soap and Glory Eyeliner

Thursday, 30 May 2013

I've been on the hunt for a new eyeliner recently despite the fact I am awful at applying it. I am still trying to master the flick but am still unsuccessful, so if any of you know any tips please let me know! I like the brush of this pen because it's easy to apply the eyeliner to the thickness you prefer, whether it be super thin or super thick. It's a real jet black too, I hate it when eyeliners are supposedly black but clearly aren't. The packaging is great as I doubt it would ever break unless you chuck it in a paper shredder, but I doubt anyone would do that, unless that's your kinda thing. The only bad thing about this product is how long it lasts. It had rubbed off after a day of school so that's around 6-7 hours which for me isn't good enough. I need something which will stay on for at least 8 hours! I hate it when eyeliner rubs off and leaves your eyes uneven.

I think this product is good for the amount you spend however I wont be repurchasing it due to its lasting ability!

OOTD // revising in the sun // another OOTD
pretty blossom // trying out outfits // fave magazine

finally 16!! // my jay mcguiness cardboard cutout and birthday cake // falsies

What a hectic few weeks it's been! On Thursday it was my birthday, and my fangirling side certainly shone through when I opened a life size jay mcguiness! I also left high school on Thursday too, where did those 5 years go?! It was certainly a day full of mixed emotions. I celebrated my birthday on Friday with a bunch of my best friends and it's now finally time to relax and chill, and revise!! Hope you've all had a brill week.

Ahh, I just LOVE this top! I am a real sucker for Galaxy/Nebula print and just find it so pretty. I already have a galaxy print top from Topshop which I got for Christmas however I actually much prefer this one because of the overall bagginess. It's perfect for just chucking on on those slobby days, which I've had a lot of recently with all this revision!

Naked 2 Palette // Lizzie McGuire The Movie // Matilda The Musical Tickets // Jeans // Lip Tint // Sequin Nail Polish

Tomorrow is my 16th Birthday (eek!) but also my second English Lit exam (boo!) AND the last day of high school, how did that happen?! But of course, I had to do a post on a few bits and bobs that I would love to recieve. I actually tend to order my own birthday presents, but for the sake of this post let's pretend I have no idea that I'm getting any of this!

First up is the Naked 2 Palette. I have always wanted a Naked palette ever since I started blogging. Originally, I wanted the basics But I thought I may as well get the Naked 2 palette for only an extra ten or so pounds. I love playing about with eyeshadows and trying different looks, although most completely fail. But practice makes perfect eh?! Okay. Don't judge me for the second item. I secretly been a Hilary Duff fan since I was probably 8 years old, I own nearly every movie she is in on DVD, however I only have Lizzie McGuire The Movie on video and it's actually my all time favourite movie, you still better not be judging! Next is Matilda the Musical tickets. I love a good old west end musical. I've been fortunate enough to see a lot of musicals in London and I've loved every single one, and I've been wanting to see Maltida since it was out! I would totally reccomend anyone and everyone to go to the west end one day, it's totally worth the dosh! Next are these 'your mom' jeans. The name makes me chuckle. I've wanted some boyfriend jeans for a while but been too scared to take the risk and buy some off ebay. I found these the other day and the current Company magazine has 20% off so hopefully I'll be able to bag myself a bargain. Finally, 2 more beauty products. I'm so amazed by this lip tint, it reacts to the alkali levels in your lips and determines how bright the colour goes. How awesome is that?! And the nail varnish. If you know me, I'm a sucker (and probably an addict) for Barry M nail polishes. I've really loved those illamasqua speckled polishes since they were out and figured maybe this was a good cheap alternative. They're so pretty!!

I can't wait to celebrate my birthday tomorrow with all my best friends, were having a little get together which should be a good laugh. If any of you have any party game suggestions, let me know in the comments!

Earlier this week I was sent this goooorgeous dress from So In Fashion, a lovely site with lot's of in trend pieces. They have lots of midi dresses which are to die for!! I also love their Pinafore which is a cheap alternative for that Topshop one which was in a while ago!

If I'm honest, I wouldn't necesarily always pick this dress out and I was a bit wary when ordering it but after recieving it and trying it on, I actually really love it! The print is super pretty and the velvet effect gives it a bit of an edge. I can see this working perfectly with a splash of neon as monochrome and colour seems to be a big thing right now! I don't know why, but as soon as I tried it on I felt as if I were going to a wedding.. it just has that kind of feel to it, which is great considering I have a wedding to attend this July!

I'm Loving.. Studs

Thursday, 16 May 2013

I'm currently questioning myself why I haven't yet made this post. I am very disappointed in myself. STUDS GLORIOUS STUDSSSS. I just love them. Anything with studs on, you can guarantee I'll love it. I currently own studded shorts, shoes, boots, shirts and a bag.. maybe even more. I think they are such brilliant simple pieces of detailing, and give a bit of a punk/gothic look to anything and everything. If you ever get bored of an item of clothing, all you have to do is buy a pack of studs off ebay for practically nothing, wack 'em on and bam, a brand new, unique and personalised piece. Do you have any obsessions like I do with studs?

Just give me a reason

Apologies for my 'I'm so totally unimpressed' look here, I'm still attempting the 'I'm a model and I'm werkin it baby' look that so many beautiful bloggers pull off! I know how controversial these tee's are but I think they're just a bit of fun and I loved them when they first arrived in Topshop, but I'm very glad I waited because Primark soon bought them in for a lot cheaper (of course!). I'm considering never buying anything again from shops like Topshop and Zara until it comes into Primark, ha! They're cheap and cheerful and can be easily styled.. perfect for when I'm being lazy!! I absolutely love Topshop jeans, and can't wait to get the Joni ones next winter, hopefully! I've never found any that I've been happier with. What's your favourite place to shop for jeans?

Avon Haul

Thursday, 2 May 2013

You know those times when you just crave a beauty haul? I have those feelings nearly every month. My nan gets the avon magazine regularly and always hands it to me and mum to have a look and nearly every time there is something I want. This time I got the Mocha eyeshadow quad which came with some gel liner and mascara. Being a girl who's very much a make-up noob, I wanted to try a cheap and cheerful lip product, so I got a light pink lip stick (this was defo a bad colour choice!!). At the time I was experiencing some serious spot troubles so I chose the spot treatment. And finally, my nails are atrocious at the moment, they keep peeling which I think may be because of the lack of sunlight they get, I can't leave the house without some colour on them, so I bought a gel strength base coat and a peeling and brittleness solver! Let's hope they work!

Would you like to see any reviews on these? What's your fave Avon product?
