I'M LOVING.. MONOCHROME

Wednesday, 27 February 2013

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

This is a scheduled post as promised while I begin revising for exams! Monochrome is certainly one of the biggest trends this spring. I love the simplicity, it makes it a lot easier to think of outfits.. most of the time! I already have the top featured in number 5 after my lovely friend got it for me for christmas, but I certainly want number 6 after Zoella showed it in a recent video of hers, it seems perfect for the hotter weather which is hopefully to come! I also think the stripes can help flatter your figure a lot, which is a massive bonus!

BLOUSE - H&M / DISCO PANTS - ASOS / SHOES - TOPSHOP

I have just spent the whole morning taking various OOTD post's which I can schedule to post over the next few weeks/months while I'm revising for my exams.. organised or what?! I finally jumped on the bandwagon and bought myself a pair of disco pants I wasn't keen on them at first but as always, they grew on me and I knew I needed some in my wardrobe. There was no way that I could afford the American Apparel's so instead I reached for some Asos dupes costing me £30 (which I still owe my mum, oops). I paired them with my H&M blouse, simple flats and a leather jacket for a bit of warmth. I wore this outfit on Thursday at Little Mix's gig. They are just as good live as they were on X Factor! I feel absolutely exhausted today and have to play football tomorrow before I'm back to school on Monday. That means that unfortunately my posts are going back to only one or two a week as I need to concentrate on my schoolwork, but I'm determined to schedule at least one thing a week so I don't abandon my blog and amazing followers! Hope you all have a great day!

LONDON SHOPPING

Friday, 22 February 2013

Recently I took a trip to London mainly to go to a small gig, but how can you go to London without shopping? The answer is you can't. I have to be honest, although I adore London shops, I cannot stand the massive amount of people. I can barely handle going to my local town on a Saturday because of the crowds, let alone the Capital city!! However, before I had a melt down I did manage to make very few purchases.

Jeans - Bershka | Necklace - £8  Wash Bag - £7 Make-up Bag £5 - All Forever 21

I didn't do too bad 'ey?! The Jeans I bought in the very first shop I went in. I've been looking for a lighter pair and they were a right bargain at just £17.99. They're a thin but not too thin material and they're a size 8.. yes I actually fitted into a size 8 pair of jeans, it certainly made me feel good. I love the colour of the necklace, and the pendant stone is really pretty and with mum asking if I wanted it, I knew I had to get it. I know the wash bag and make-up bag aren't too exciting but I really needed a bigger make-up bag, and the wash bag will come in use at some point. I definitely have a bit of a thing for this turquoise shade of blue too.

SHEINSIDE VS. THE TRENDS

Tuesday, 19 February 2013

An online shop I've recently found and been impressed with is SheInside. This store caters for almost everyone, whatever your style AND it's affordable! I have spent the last few days scrolling through their hundreds of pages wishing I had more money! Instead of the usual wishlists I do, I thought I'd change things up a little bit and create a Vs. The Trends post, where I select items from the store which are perfect for the current trends. Let me know what you think of it!

Monochrome

Floral

What selection is your favourite? Would you like to see more Vs. The Trends posts? If you fancy taking a look at any of the above, each item has a link with the corresponding number. You can visit SheInside right HERE.

EBAY WISHLIST #2

Monday, 18 February 2013

1/2/3/4/5

My first day of the half term and I'm indoors drooling over online bargains, watching a very old glee and having cuddles with my beautiful doggy. It's hard to pick some favourites of this wishlist, however I am loving the shorts. I really wanted some vintage-y shorts last Summer but never got round to getting some, and these are perfect and a massive steal. I'm really loving bomber jackets right now, I'm expecting them to be a big thing this Spring/Summer, I love the colour and pattern of this one I picked. The shoes are just super cute, the tee is simple and stylish and the necklace is a perfect statement for any outfit.

I'm hoping to actually get outdoors today and do something and make the most of my spare time before I knuckle down and start revising for my GCSE's after the break! Totally not looking forward to that. I've also had a play around with my blog, the width, sidebar and header.. I think I'm finally happy with it! What do you think?

REVIEW: SOAP AND GLORY BROW PENCIL

Sunday, 17 February 2013

After using a ridiculously cheap eyebrow pencil that barely matches my eyebrow colour for far too long I decided it's time to find a new product. To be honest, I didn't really look at any reviews of this product or any others, but nonetheless I enjoyed it. The idea is to use the liquid brush end to draw out the outlines of your brow before using the pencil end to colour in. The first two lines on the image of my hand above is the  liquid, outlining end and the bottom line is the pencil, colouring in end. I like the idea of shaping out my eyebrows however when using this just for school I don't really bother with that and instead just use the pencil end. The pencil end twists to reveal more so I expect this will last a pretty long time, however you have to be careful your twist is fully back to prevent cutting off some of the pencil like I did when I took these photos, silly Lucy. The colour suited my eyebrows well and is a lot better to the previous pencil I used. It lasts a whole day at school and I'm pretty sure it would last a full 12 hours. The packaging is great and I don't imagine that it would break.

Overall, I am really impressed with this product and I will purchasing another soon!

LASHES OF LONDON

1/2/3/4/5/6

Two weeks ago E-tail PR announced they'd teamed up with Lashes of London to give away a massive £200 to spend on the website! I can't resist a good competition so this is my entry. We were asked to make a wishlist from the products online and here's what I've chosen. I wasn't expecting to pick so many sparkles!! I completely fell in love with the dress pictured as number 3, it just screams Summer! The crop top in number 5 is the same, summer summer summer! I love all kind of lace clothing so this had my name all over it. I also adore number 1. I love the colour of the sparkles and the splash of colour the collar and lining gives. It's beautiful!!

If you fanciy checking out the Lashes of London website and all their wonderful clothes, you can do HERE

What do you think of my wishlist?

TROUBLEMAKER

JUMPER - BOOHOO / SKIRT - TOPSHOP / SHOES - OFFICE / TIGHTS - PRIMARK / NECKLACE - FOREVER 21

Yesterday was the last day of School so I'm officially on my half term holidays!! I'm looking forward to having a bit of fun and some rest before I'm back at school and focusing on my exams. Being the last day, we had a non uniform day raising money for charity and this is what I wore. I always struggle on these days because I want to dress up but I don't like looking over dressed. I ended up with this casual and comfy outfit. I seem to have an addicted with rolling up jumper sleeves at the moment, which usually means I look like I have abnormal shaped arms when I wear my coat over the top. There is one thing I loved about this outfit, and it was how comfy the tights were. They're Primark's 'Super Cosy' ones and they have a lining inside, they're SO warm, and the fact they're Primark too is pretty shocking. I'm impressed.

Tomorrow I have a football match and then my holiday can officially begin, I'm going to London searching for some heels for prom and then seeing Little Mix in the evening on Thursday!

BOOHOO BEAUTIES

Thursday, 14 February 2013

Happy Valentines day! Clearly all of my Valentine cards and gifts have been lost in the post.. HA!

I always love shopping online but the price for having to return items always put me off, especially if you don't actually keep anything, you end up spending money on nothing! So when I saw boohoo had free returns along with free delivery I knew I had to sneak in a little order.. I also got 10% off!

First is a little moan.. Along with the items below, I also bought a bag, midi dress and flatforms. The bag was fine, the other two items I was really disappointed in. The midi dress, I could barely get on, and actually had to get some help off my mum (who found this highly amusing). It was difficult to get over my shoulders, and then over my breasticles. I by no means have broad shoulders nor the biggest boobs (I wish I did though!) and although I could have got a size 10, most of my tops and dresses are an 8. I honestly have no idea how even a size 6 would fit in it. Secondly, the flatforms were revolting. They were very small and far too wide. They looked nothing like the picture online which originally made me think they were perfect. Not happy Boohoo!!

Moaning over, lets get onto what I kept..

Jumper - £17.95 | Boots - £30 | Chain - £8 | Headband - £5

MINI BEAUTY HAUL

Tuesday, 12 February 2013

After joining the blogging world I have found a new love for all things beauty and have to refrain myself from splurging in various beauty stores. I went to Boots recently to actually find a Soap and Glory face cleanser which they ended up not having, but somehow I still managed to spend £29 pounds.

Eyelure lashes - £5 | Brow Pencil - £10 | Eyeliner - £6 | Essie Nail Polish - £7.99

I've never used lashes. Yep, I'm a complete fake eye lashes virgin. I decided this needed to change so I purchased these after being told Eyelure were a good brand. I may have got some too bigger ones but I'm just going to be practising with these!! I know there is a massive hype over Soap and Glory products but never realised they did Make-Up. I decided to try out the eyeliner and the Brow pencil as I'm fed up of using cheap ones that quite frankly look awful! Finally, I am addicted to nail polish, it's very rare that I ever leave the house without some colour on my nails. There has been many good words about Essie so I decided to give this one a go, in the shade 'Big Spender'. I am pleasantly surprised.

Definitely going to be reviewing these products sometime soon!

WIN MARC B AND ASOS VOUCHERS

Monday, 11 February 2013

Recently e-tail PR announced a brand new competition to win £75 to spend at Marc B, and if that isn't enough there is also a massive £175 to spend at ASOS up for grabs. I'm just imagining how perfect my spring wardrobe could be with all of that..

To enter all you have to do is choose one of Marc B's new season bag's, simply base an outfit around it using asos clothes! I chose the lovely Black Black Snake bag which is so gorgeous my heart is slowly breaking. To view ALL of Marc B's new season bag's you can do by visiting the website:  www.marcb.com.

As you probably guessed this is my outfit post, despite the awfully wet and cold weather I tried to make it a bit more spring like in hope that the sunshine will arrive soon! The boots featured in a recent post of mine and I really need them in my life. The floral skirt is really sweet and I think it will go beautifully with the simple striped mesh top. I went for a big statement necklace with a few cute rings and bracelet, finishing off the outfit with some sunglasses for the non-existent sunshine, and of course the Marc B bag.

If you fancy entering this competition too.. (let's be honest, you'd be mad not to), you can do so right HERE!

LEARN TO LOVE AGAIN

Sunday, 10 February 2013

The other week I bought 2 items in the Urban Outfitters sale. I absolutely adore Urban Outfitters and I'm gutted there's none in my area, however I do occasionally buy online, especially when they have free delivery offers!

I saw these earrings and just fell in love with them straight away. They're really cute and I just adore them. The thin wire is really sweet and I've seen a few heart tattoo's on tumblr recently which I've liked and these reminded me of them!

CHANGEABLE STRAP WATCH - £15

I've been wanting a new watch for a while for school and I originally wanted to get a different one off Urban Outfitters which was a brown leather strap and an adorable map print face, but unfortunately that went out of stock! Instead I brought this one which was half price, it's a bit small but it'll do the job!

I'M LOVING.. FLATFORMS

Saturday, 9 February 2013

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

I just adore flatforms at the moment!! I find flatforms are a slightly more feminine than the recent creepers trend which I'm not too keen on. I was devastated when I received a bargain pair of simple converse style pair of flatforms from boohoo because of how awful they looked. They were ridiculously small, wide and overall cheap looking, so I am left still searching for some more! I remember seeing a grey River Island pair very similar to number 1, I was unsure at the time but now I wish I bought them! Number 2 are a really simple style and I've seen them pretty cheap on a few online places. I think number 4 are definitely perfect for the Spring season approaching as the colours are so calm and pretty! I've seen one or two blog posts featuring number 5 and I've certainly fallen for them but I'm a bit concerned they're too wintery now. I really need to start buying stuff as soon as I see it, dammit.

REVIEW: THE BODY SHOP EXFOLIATING WASH

Friday, 8 February 2013

As you may already know, I love all tea tree products. Tea Tree oil does wonders for my skin and works instantly on any spots! Before Christmas The Body Shop had an offer online which resulted in a probably bit too excessive haul! I bought some face masks, some make-up and a few other bits for presents. I always get awful blackheads on my nose and pores on my cheeks which I can't stand. I always used to simply use a facemask to help bring out the dirt until I found this. It does exactly what it claims to - unclogs pores and makes my skin a lot clearer! I normally use it in the shower - when I have wet skin and occasionally in the morning.  It feels great when I put it on, I love that it has crushed apricot stones in because I find this works wonders with the blackheads. I literally don't have bad word for it! And of course, The Body Shop don't test on animals which makes it even better. You can buy it online HERE for just £6.50!

I strongly recommend this product to anyone who has oily skin and struggles with blackheads!
